This course is designed to assist police officers in identifying fraudulent documents they may encounter on traffic stops, patrol, and during routine investigations by utilizing law enforcement sensitive anti-counterfeiting measures, simple tools, and other resources. This course focuses on documents that may not be easy to identify as fraudulent through common law enforcement databases such as NCIC and NLETS. Topics include:
This course is designed to assist police officers in the detailed critical analysis of written statements and the rapid assessment of verbal statements for signs of intentional deception or misleading information. This thought provoking course analyzes human behavior and utilizes a scientific approach to enhance interviewing skills and improve the results of field, phone, and formal interviews, investigations, written statements, and more. Students will experience an immersive and interactive class that includes practical skill building exercises to incorporate linguistic analysis into their everyday lives.
Matt Lloyd began his law enforcement career in 2008 and is currently an active New Jersey law enforcement officer, field training officer, and K-9 handler with the rank of Corporal assigned to his agency’s Proactive Enforcement Unit. Matt is highly trained and experienced having logged thousands of hours of formalized law enforcement training and mastering NJ traffic law utilizing it to promote both traffic safety and proactive criminal enforcement.
Matt holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Stockton University, is accredited and certified by Kean University as a level 2 Traffic Safety Specialist (the highest distinction awarded), and is a certified Drug Recognition Expert among many other noteworthy distinctions and certifications. Matt has studied under the world's leading experts in human behavior for more than a decade. Throughout his career, Matt has received multiple awards from Mother’s Against Drunk Driving (MADD), agency Officer of The Year, agency Officer of the Month, life saving awards, PROCOPS award, and numerous commendations for apprehensions related to narcotics and weapons investigations directly stemming from proactive law enforcement.
Matt is a well-known instructor throughout the law enforcement community praised for his extensive knowledge and dynamic classes that are engaging, clear, and comprehensive. Matt is passionate about teaching and elevating the professionalism of the law enforcement community—a true cop’s cop. Matt’s teachings focus on building confidence and developing a firm understanding of the topic at hand resulting in developing well-educated professional law enforcement officers across the nation.
Matt is an active member of the International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association, International Association of Chiefs of Police, National Tactical Officers Association, Fraternal Order of Police, NJ Drug Recognition Expert Association, United States Police Canine Association, and NJ Narcotic Enforcement Officers Association.
